I use vista and i like it, just a few bumps when I first started using it but its like a cadillac now,,
Vista being hated is actually a misconception, but the outcome is more likely if compared to traditional DOS.
The cinfiguration you provided above is a good characteristic for any arcade system. Great going there.
Vista 64-bit is better than the competitors Mac and Linux and other Red Hat clients in a few domains and inferior to them in a few others.
What Vista does the best is manage the system resources and provide technical supports embeded for almost all problems. The registry structure is very firm. Not to mention that Vista has the best navigation. Design was 1 feature that famed (N)X Operating systems, Vista beats all that single handedly. Windows defender, Bot client, Download Supporter, Power manager are some of the in-built features of Vista which the other Operating Systems are still thinking to build.
People hate Vista because it appears as though the people working behind it did almost NO compatibility tests.
For your specs:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/editions/systemrequirements.mspx
Here you will find everything you need to run Vista.
For your games: Part of it depends on your computer, part of it on luck. My friend is a big gamer, and he had to do trial and error for his games. It won’t hurt the system if they bug out; you can just uninstall them.
Also, keep in mind that you can always revert back to XP if you find you prefer that. It’ll cost some, but at least there’s an alternative.
Summed up, Vista is basically XP with more problems and higher-level aesthetics. Stick to XP if it works for you, go to Vista if you just want to play around.
people only hate it cos of compatibility and other hardware problems, which is bull to be honest. I have had it for ages and works fine. Your system would run it well, mines much worse than that.
Oh I know why people hate it.
Its cause Vista has such poor memory RAM management.
Shall I also say that Vista hits virtual memory or harddisk like crazy, if you have 512-1024mb of ram? And to add to the annoyance, if you have a 5400rpm and slower HDD, then… Vista just seems to be unresponsive. Basically, it would be more of pressing CNTRL + ALT + DEL 8 hours /7 days, in order to close the unresonsive program. To add to the fact that Vista is unresponsive itself.
With a system like yours, you want notice a single flaw, you already have top of the line CPUs and GPUs along with pretty decent 2gigabytes of ram.
People with 1gigabytes of ram and low-end to dedicated GPU’s are making such a fuss about it. Unfortuneately, most of the people living in our world aren’t rich, and cant bother affording GeForce 8300’s/8400’s, Radeon X1300XT/X1400 and better, nor could they afford 2gigs of ram, or shall I say 1gig of ram. Already vista’s poor and unstable at 1gigs of ram, but 512mb of ram? People hate it.
i dont know why people hate vista i like it, i dont see anything wrong with it, i think is just something new that people are not familiar with
