I'm looking to buy a professional style 30" computer display and I'm curious as to what the lowest price I would pay to get a 30" display is - used or otherwise. For reference I'm talking about top of the line HP monitors, NEC, LG, etc that support 2560 x 1600 (not just a TV that's a 30" or 32" that's only 1920 x 1080). Just trying to get an idea of what I should expect to spend.
i just upgraded my monitor to a NEC 17" and the native resolution on it (which is the resolution that apparently looks "best") is a whopping 1280x1024! this makes everything look ridiculously tiny and very uncomfortable to read.. decreasing the resolution makes everything a bit larger but very fuzzy text among other limitations. i did some research and it looks like most LCD 17" displays have a native resolution of 1280x1024. who was the genius that decided to make this the standard?? its terrible. can anyone recommend any decent 17" LCD monitors that DON'T require this outrageous resolution, or at least any that have a native resolution smaller than this??
i have Cleartype on and all that stuff. does anyone know of any 17" LCDs that have a native resolution of anything less than 1280x1024? i dont mind using a native resolution, just not one where everything is this tiny.
Which Computer monitor is better quality and which would you recommend? The choice is between the Dell 22" Widescreen Flatpanel Monitor E228WFP, and the ViewSonic VG2230 22" Widescreen Graphic Series LCD Display, and the NEC AccuSync ASLCD223WXM-BK 22-inch Widescreen Black Flat Panel LCD Monitor. Please tell me which one you recommend, and why. Thanks
Adding this monitor to which one you recommend: Samsung SyncMaster 225BW 22"
Thanks
I've owned the Acer AL226W and the Samsung 226BW, and the colours are great. Pretty accurate. The problem I'm seeing with the 22" LCDs is that on vertical pitch, the top portion of the display gets darker than the lower part. The lower you go (pitch looking up), the more you notice the top of the screen getting darker in comparison to the bottom. This plays such a huge factor when it comes to viewing colours.
Initially from what I was told, this may have to do with a faulty display. But I've tested about 5 different LCD monitors (all 22"), and they all did that. The only ones that I didn't notice this issue with was the Apple Cinema displays (00), the LG 23" HD monitor (00), and a smaller 20" NEC LCD 2270nx display.
I'm just wondering if this is just an issue with your run of the mill 22" displays. Can anyone explain this strange "phenomenom", and perhaps recommend an affordable 22" LCD that doesn't have this issue. thanks.
