i recently added a dvd writer to my NEC Desktop computer but it does not work,I bought another RAM but still it oes not work and I guess i need the driver for the motherboard..can you give me a direct site to download its driver?

I have done this on other pc's, but those cards were identifiable because only the monitor cord plugged into the card. When I opened the tower I saw that the monitor plugs into what looks like the motherboard. How do I identify the video card?
