LCD monitor, i found a dead, pixel what should i do?
i just bought the monitor yesterday, i found a dead pixel and phoned up NEC and they told me they cant replace that as a faulty bcos its only one dead pixel...so i phoned up the store i bought it from and they said they only cover for 5 or more dead pixels.
what should i do?
its a 24wmgx3, i spent £500 on that
They are allowed to not replace your screen if it has less than 10 dead pixels.
What i suggest is that you take it back to them and ask for a refund for a different reason than the dead pixels.
Tell them you purchased it as a gift for someone and that they already received the same gift from someone else.
In the end though, its pretty rare to find a screen with no dead pixels on it. Even straight out of the box.
Hope you get your $$ back so that you can buy another screen that you’re happier with.
ALL monitors have one or more dead pixels. Not always very visible. Due to the problems manufacturing these screens the legal requirement is up to 10 pixels dead. So anyone only allowing up to 5 is offering BETTER quality than most.
kill more 4 pixels
LCDs always come with a risk of dead pixels. That’s why the manufacturers only give warranty for specific classes for pixel faults.
If it’s still in that margin, you can’t do anything about it. (Unless the store is being very generous about it.)
Dont know in which country u are
But in India i had changed 3 lcd monitors on the reason of having dead pixels (Less dan 5)…
