If so, you should be able to gracefully shut down the system with Task Manager (CTRL/ALT/DEL).  If the mouse doesn' t work, use the tab and arrow keys to move the highlight where you want it.  Also remember Alt/Tab to change applications.

This isn't a full fix by far, but it might save you headaches with trashed files.</description>
