How to get out of standby mode on NEC Versa FE2000 laptop?
If I leave my laptop for awhile it goes into standby mode although I haven't set it up in the Control Panel as such. Because I can't get the display to light up I end rebooting (which I know is a no-no but I have no choice). You can actually see the screen/ opened application i.e. Word/Excel/Powerpoint beyond the dark screen but I just can't get the display to light up. Anyone have any ideas? Would be much appreciated.
If you can see the application, does it respond to keystrokes?
If so, you should be able to gracefully shut down the system with Task Manager (CTRL/ALT/DEL). If the mouse doesn’ t work, use the tab and arrow keys to move the highlight where you want it. Also remember Alt/Tab to change applications.
This isn’t a full fix by far, but it might save you headaches with trashed files.
