How can I tell if I have a DVD Burner on my computer?
I do not think I have one and I wanted to back up my music and other files into 4.7 GB DVDs. What should I do?

The Broom, are you saying that if I just take the DVD - R disks back to the store and exchange them for DVD + R, it should work?
Rajinder, I do not understand your answer at all.
Siddanth, when I put the DVD-R disk in my tray, my pc did not react at all and Musicmatch seems to think the dvd is a cd with only 78 minutes capacity!!
The DVD +/- suggests you have what you want. Now what you need is the imported software to drive it.
That it there - _NEC DVD+RW ND-1100A [CD-ROM drive] By the looks of things you’ll need to use the + discs and not the - ones.
EDIT: To clarify, you can only burn on to dvd+r or dvd+rw This model does not support dvd-r or dvd-rw
EDIT2: Yes, that’s correct. You may need to update your drivers, contact me about that if you need help doing so.
Remember that the R discs can only be written on to once but the RW discs are rewritable meaning you can burn on to them again and again if you get fed up with what’s on them.
well on mine on the side of the cd drive it says
"compact disc ReWritable" and "DVD Multi Recorder"
and i can burn DVDs
If you do have it, try getting Nero or DVD shrink <-you need these types of programs to burn DVD’s
install the burning software came with DVD Writer then only you can burn the DVD or CD whether nero or magiciso many are there to burn the dvds and enable burning in properties of the hardware
dont worry your pc have the capability to burn DVD’s
